Although one of the oldest types of
brush constructions, ferrule brushes
offer a broad range of possibilities
for powder or liquid application.
Ferrule brushes are manufactured by
inserting fill materials into a
ferrule and holding it in place with
a bonding agent. Density can be
varied with the use of a plug
inserted in the center of the fill
material. |

The ferrule is formed
from seamless tubing - usually
brass, but can be injection molded.
Generally manufactured without
handles and is suited for mechanical
fastening to a holder or handle. |

The ferrule can be
extruded tubing, screw machine parts
or machined rod stock. Fill
material extends straight out or may
have a natural flare. This
type of brush is well suited for use
with handles and holding devices. |

Made with extruded
straight or conical (tapered) tubing
and pressed to specified shape after
fill material has been inserted.
The tapered shape creates a fanning
effect of a greater brushing area
while reducing the amount of fill
material used. Made with or
without handles. |
